3 Why does the Renaissance begin in Italy? Center of Roman learning that the Renaissance was based Italian City States were also the center of trade and manufacturing in Europe These City States had the wealth and powerful merchant class who wanted but were also willing to finance the Renaissance

4 The Renaissance Social thought began to change as education began to be viewed as a necessity A true Renaissance Man should be educated, well mannered, and a master of many fields. Particularly if you were an Aristocrat. Literary works not based on religion, but rather how to move up socially
