3 What is the International Student Program?  A true intercambio Two students, one from Chile and one from the United States, are paired up and travel to each other’s country, live with each other’s family, and attend each other’s school during their respective summer vacation. 4 ISP Objectives The primary objective of the International Student Program (ISP) is to give students the opportunity to…  Attend a private school in the US  Participate in classes and school activities  Live with a family of the school  Develop an appreciation of different cultures

5 Washington D.C.  The ISP experience is enhanced through a four-day educational visit to the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C., prior to starting the intercultural exchange.

6 A Semester of Preparation Every week beginning in August: Cultural Preparation Meetings  Thursdays, 15:30 – 16:30 For example… U.S. slang, daily life of a high school student, school life and rules/discipline, U.S. currency, U.S. government holidays, geography what to teach others about Chile...and more! Meetings are MANDATORY and attendance will be taken!

7 We are looking for VMA’s best!  Students must  Maintain at least a 6.0 general average and a 6.0 average in English prior to departure.  Maintain good disciplinary status  Participate in classes and keep an organized binder  Parents must  Attend informational meetings

8 How much does it cost? Approximately US $3500.00  International Round Trip to and from Santiago $2,250  U.S. Domestic Round Trip to and from U.S. hosting school $450  3 nights at a hotel in Washington, D.C. $300  D.C. transportation and City Tours $200  Medical insurance $300 Additional costs: Visa/passport fees if needed All extra spending money, including money for food while in Washington, DC, will be the responsibility of the student and family. of the student and family.

You will receive an email for a personal interview with Miss Jacinda and Miss Erica. 4. We will review your 1 st semester report card (behavior and academic results).

10 Final Selection  On Wednesday, July 1 after school you will receive an acceptance email.
