3 RRSF Process CODI-II Resolution (7 September 2001) The Conference of Ministers – Recognizes the fact that principles and objectives of AAPA were and will stay relevant for statistical development in Africa; – Regrets the low implementation level of the AAPA identifeid in the ealuation ; …. – Decides that the new plan proposed in the evaluation report are not necessary. There was rather a need to put in place a new framework for statistical development in Africa that will take into account: Full participation of all stakeholders; New information demand (Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP), New Partnership for the development of Africa (NEPAD)); Strategies on statistical capacity building at national, sub-regional and regional level; Critical situation of post-conflict and post-crisis countries; Mechanisms of continuous monitoring and evaluation

16 Way forward and questions for discussion Formalize the Terms of Reference (ToRs) of RRSF Coordinators at all levels Prepare annual reports from National Coordinators Synthesis by sub-regional coordinators “Mid-review” report in 2012 by the regional organizations this time (by consultants but not ideal) Update the RRSF Website Final report in 2015 (based on sub-regional reports and anticipating the new challenges of development agenda beyond 2015 including climate change, etc. )
