Determination: 1) Evaluate metrics per district chapter provided by Phi Theta Kappa Headquarters data regarding membership acceptance, chapter ‘star level’, participation in College Fish and Competitive Edge. 2)Choose two chapters per district for outreach: a.Northwest: Mercy College of Northwest Ohio and Northwest State b.Southwest: Southern State c.Central: Columbus Ohio Technical College and Ohio University-Lancaster d.Northeast: Aultman College of Nursing and Health and Akron University e.Southeast: Belmont Technical College.
6
Initiation/Action: 1)Contact Chapter Advisor(s) to request information to facilitate communication to that chapter and 3-5 of its members. 2)Regional Officers to offer in-person assistance with Fellowship Events, Induction Ceremonies and membership drives. 3)Should the determined chapters decline regional mentorship; the officer team will determine subsequent chapters to adopt. 4)Integrate District meetings at Regional Conferences to facilitate neighboring chapter engagement to assist with this initiative.
7
Evaluation: 1)One chapter in each district accepted mentorship from the Ohio Regional Officer Team and the region through District Initiatives. 2)Adopted chapter has increased membership compared to previous metrics 3)Adopted chapter increased its Star level rating by one star by the March 2016 Regional Awards Gala. 4)No less than 5% of adopted chapter members will have initiated College Fish Profile by the March 2016 Regional Awards Gala. 5)No less than 5% of adopted chapter members will have initiated Five Star Competitive Edge profile by the March 2016 Regional Awards Gala

Regional Officer Outreach All Regional Officers will engage in in-person presence throughout the region. 1)Executive Officers will attend one event within their district and two events outside of their district, outside of their home chapter. This may include attendance at ‘Adopted Chapter’ events. 2)District Officers will attend one event within their district and one event outside of their district, outside of their home chapter. This may include attendance at ‘Adopted Chapter’ events. District Officers are only required one ‘out of District’ event due to the ground work required to facilitate the success of Adopted Chapters. 3)Attendance at events will be communicated to Brandon Cornute, Ohio Regional Vice President and verified by the hosting chapter. Excel file documentation will be maintained for evaluation of completion of goal.
9
Competitive Edge/Five Star Member All Regional Officers will obtain their 5 Star Competitive Edge status by February 1st, 2016. 1)All Regional Officers will have completed ‘3 Star’ Level by the October Honors in Action Conference. 2)All Regional Officers will have completed ‘4 Star’ Level by the December Officer’s Retreat. 3)All Regional Officers will have completed their ‘5 Star’ Competitive Edge status by February 1st, 2016. 4)The Regional Officer Team challenges the regional membership to complete their Competitive Edge status according to the set time frames. 5)The first 35 members who complete this goal AND attend the Regional Awards Gala in March, 2016, will have their pins purchased by the Region and recipients will receive their pins at the awards gala.
10
Title IX Training and Certification All Regional Officers will obtain Title IX Reporter Training and certification. By obtaining Title IX certification, Regional Officers will become a neutral party resource for questions, education, and reporting in lieu of the growing harassment incidences on college campuses. We hope to engage chapters within the region to secure or seek out an on campus Title IX Representative. Further goal, policy, and service opportunity development will be ongoing throughout the year.
11
Phi Theta Kappa 101 The Ohio Region will incorporate ‘Phi Theta Kappa 101’: Cynthia Johnson-Mason and Connie and David Kerr’s original initiative within the Kentucky Region and the Alumni Association of Phi Theta Kappa. The above named individuals will be invited to assist with presenting the information to maintain the integrity of the program. This intensive review of the ‘basics’ of Phi Theta Kappa will be integrated as part of the ‘New Member Track’ breakout sessions at the Leadership in Action and Honors in Action Conferences.
12
Phi Theta Kappa 101 ‘Adopted Chapters’ (as outlined in previous goals) will receive this presentation as part of the Regional support and mentorship.
