2 Project Scope Description Use existing, GigaBit, City-owned fiber network to build automation into SCADA systems tied into gas, water and electric to create distribution automation for optimization and resiliency of traditional city services Partnerships required – Net Meter Technology – Community Pilot – Analytical

3 Project Action Plan Major Tasks Determine best technology platform Securing analytical resources Capture data coming from directly from Leverage existing city own network resources Targets Deployed to 5 places sites (businesses, alternative energy homes) Identify saving opportunities to pilot members Provide starting point for SMART grid Others want to implement technology

4 Impacts/Benefits Targets save money; data driven energy decisions Better up time Reduced downtime and outages Community engagement on benefits that infrastructure we own can bring to the city by demonstrating potential Smart Grid technology. Increased economic development by high bandwidth companies moving into town to create jobs.

5 Demonstration Demonstration scenario -Data from sites with smart meter show meaningful data -Comparison data shows impact of data driven energy consumption
