14. 14 Collegial or Shared Governance 14 Academic governance is a complex process Collegiality consists of a shared decision-making process between faculty, staff, students, and administrators It is based on mutual respect for similarities and differences and involves mutual trust Continual consultation occurs prior to decisions being made
