Who we are We are the sustainability adviser for the leaders of the West Midlands. –Government recognised ‘sustainability champion body’ for West Midlands –Our Board is private sector led and cross-sector representative –Created in 2002 as a not-for-profit company, that works with over 100 corporate members in the business, public and voluntary sectors Our role is to act as a catalyst for change through helping leadership in: –Strategy – organisations preparing for the future e.g. sustainability reviews, monitoring –Delivery – sectors sharing and applying good practice e.g. learning networks, funding, technical advice –Innovation – cross sectors developing new solutions e.g. research on sustainability priorities for a better region 81% of our customers rated us ‘excellent to good’ in the delivery of our mission (2011-14)

Our Vision By 2020 businesses and communities are thriving in a West Midlands that is environmentally sustainable and socially just. Productivity up by 30% Carbon emissions down by 30% Health inequality gap reduced by 30% Known for green industrial revolution Leaders working together to make a difference ‘Low carbon vision’ begins to set out what was possible in 2010 in terms of energy, transport, construction, and future issues to reach 2020…just add next steps and leadership

Our health networks 220 members NHS estates, facilities, energy managers Learning network addressing sustainability priorities that also deliver improved health outcomes within the NHS. 111 members Local authorities, NHS Trusts, other A learning network for public health practitioners to promote how sustainability can complement public health targets and drivers.

Our work programmes Energy efficiency and renewables (Feb) Procurement (May) Waste (22 September) Behaviour Change Active transport (June) Green space Fuel poverty and housing Emergency planning and health Both networks have chair from the sector, and steering group to influence work programme
