2 This activity is designed to help you learn how to tell a story that has: Beginning / Middle / End Deals with a central problem or plot Uses sensory or descriptive language

3 Let’s try it Answer these questions about the painting: Give the people in the picture names. Describe their clothes. Use at least one simile or metaphor; for example, “His shirt was like…” Use three words to describe the personalities of each person. Where are they? Name the city, the building, the country, etc. What happened just before this picture was “taken”? What’s going on now? What happened just after the picture was “taken”?

4 Now, put your answers together into a short story with a beginning, middle and end.
