4 The Spenserian Stanza  The Spenserian stanza is a fixed verse form.  Each stanza contains nine lines in total: eight lines in iambic pentameter followed by a single 'Alexandrine' line in iambic hexameter.  The rhyme scheme of these lines is " ababbcbcc."
