4 Cover Letter and Resume A cover letter and resume are like sending out your own personal cheerleader. A resume is designed to state your qualifications and experiences. Your cover letter and resume should be straightforward and aesthetically pleasing to the eye

5 Your Resume Needs To Include: Name Address Phone Number Email Address Career Objective - State what job you are applying for Education-Where did you go to school and what diplomas were received. Start with your most current information and move backwards. Make sure to include all school attended even if you did not graduate Employment Experience-What jobs have you held in the past. Start with your most recent job and move backwards Make sure to include your job duties Ex: If you worked in a restaurant or retail, employers need to know that you have customer service experience

6 References: You should have a minimum of 3 references that an employer can contact regarding your work skills and character Get permission from the reference prior to using their information. References should be available upon request

8 Your Cover Letter Needs To Include: Introduction State what position you are applying for and your main objective Body Mention 3 strong points you feel every employer should know about you This is where you can talk about you, truthfully. Make sure to also include your educational experiences that support your career as well as your graduating attendance record, Retail per service transaction (RPST) and Service per client ticket (SPCT)

9 Your Cover Letter Needs To Include: Closing: State your overall purpose which is to obtain an interview Mention what the next step should be in the process Sign off the letter with “Sincerely Yours”, “Yours Truly”, or “Successfully”, followed by your full name
