2 An affix is a a prefix or suffix, that can be attached to a base, stem, or root word. What is a affix? Affixes include; suffixes prefixes

3 What is a root word? A root word is a word that has a prefix, suffix, or both added to it. For example:singing the root word is _______ sing The root word is the word without any added parts. The root word can also be called the stem or the base word.

4 What is a prefix? Examples of prefixes A prefix is a word part that is added before the root or stem or base word. un + kind = unkind re + act = react mis + lay = mislay pre + fix = prefix

5 What is a suffix? A suffix is a word part that is added after the root or stem or base word. Examples of suffixes reason + able = reasonable care + full = careful hope + less = hopeless danger + ous = dangerous happy + ness = happiness just + ify = justify
