3 ASSEMBLE A TEAM OF CHAMPIONS We encourage each affiliate to assemble a team of AT LEAST 10 individuals. Carefully select team member based upon their propensity engage people and draw them to the mission. Consider their personal, work, church, and online networks when selecting team members. Don’t feel desperate to fill a team with individuals that you believe may not put forth maximum effort. Some people simply won’t have the time to commit to the campaign. Continuously look for outings and ways to bring your team together and motivate them. Consider local after work gathering (miniature golf, volunteering at other organizations, dinner or bar outings). Motivate the emotional side your team with our stories and share the good news that is going on. If you can keep the emotions motivated, the physical work will follow.

4 STORYTELLING AT ITS FINEST Discover stories within your affiliate, share those with team members, institute them using the tips below. Make the donor the hero Portray emotional storytelling that connects directly with the donors feelings/emotions If possible, incorporate digital stories using photos/video & narration

5 MAKE IT PERSONAL 1.Think People, one on one engagement! 2. Send individual messages to family and friends via Facebook, Twitter, and other networks. 3. Avoid sending mass emails and general posts to your timeline’s on a regular basis. 4. The more personal, the better your results will be. 5. Drive constituents to your website and speak with internal staff to gain full buy in. Have internal staff mention the program when they’re out in the community publicizing other HFH efforts.
