1 Visual Novel .

2 What is a Visual Narrative?
Visual narrative is use any visual media to tell a story. The term "visual narrative" has been used to describe several genres of visual storytelling, from news and information (photojournalism, the photo essay, the documentary film) to entertainment (art, movies, television, comic books, the graphic novel). In short, any kind of a story, told visually, is a visual narrative.

3 Supplies:  Camera: Digital Camera/Pictures  Memory Card for the digital camera  USB Jump Drive; Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop 

4 Topic: A Mystery The story must involve a minimum of 4 characters.
The story must contain an unexpected "twist" in narration. A "violent" and an “unusual" aspect must be included in the narrative. At least two distinctly different locations must be featured. The story must accommodate the following items: a shoe, a calculator, a receipt and holding hands. A limited amount of text can be used to explain the photographed narrative. A limited amount of text can be used to explain the photographed narrative. (a maximum of 2 pages and a maximum of 2 sentences per page.

5 Narrative Outline The outline must have the following: Abstract
5 sentence summary of what your story will be about. (This can change later if it isn’t working.) List of Characters 15 bullets where you describe the picture you are going to be putting there. (This can change later if it isn’t working.) Theme What is your story going to communicate to your audience. MAKE IT MEANINGFUL!!

6 Concept Paper (Each Topic Has a Concept Paper)
The opening paragraph should be an overview of the purpose of the paper  Include:  The purpose of your photographic story (an overview of the inspiration behind the story), the message behind the story (What does this story mean?  Why is it important?), and how you approached the story (an overview of how and why you chose the specific style used in shooting the story – perhaps your personal vision and style as it applies to shooting photography to tell the story?)  The body of the paper  One paragraph that details the purpose of the photographic story  (reason for creating) One paragraph that details the message behind the story  (what you want the viewer to take away) One paragraph that details how you approached the story ( what was your process) The conclusion  Pull the concepts of the body of the paper together in this final paragraph.    Provide a synthesis of the paper in the paragraph ( Perhaps include what you learned from this project  Conclude with why your story was an important one to tell

7 POWERPOINT Must Have at least 15 pictures (10 Must be self created and 5, from another source). Must tell the story (pictures, limited writing, music) Must set the tone (colors, music) Minimum of 16 slides each topic Must be printed out
