5 Control the cloud and be free to innovate We helped Genome Institute of Singapore push the barriers of medical treatment and diagnosis using the cloud Make the right choices for your business We helped Crabtree and Evelyn meet their compliance obligations while harnessing all the benefits of cloud Connect to the cloud We helped Etihad Airways make every customer feel special by seamlessly integrating their contact centre infrastructure We help you: innovate faster across continents expand into new markets without lengthy lead times for infrastructure boost your reputation with a great experience for your customers across different channels exploit the cost benefit of pay-as-you-go flexibility. Etihad’s cloud contact centres take off Jabil, As Head of Global Contact Centres for Etihad Airways, Ruth Birkin wanted customers – or guests, as the airline calls them – to feel special from the very first phone call, and that meant making its contact centres work seamlessly. The national carrier of the United Arab Emirates has three contact centres – two in the UAE and one in the UK – with agents covering 14 different languages. With the BT Cloud Contact Cisco platform the airline has made a virtual entity out of all three. Now telephony, email and text traffic is integrated into a single queue, increasing the efficiency of customer service. Callers from 37 countries can be dropped straight into the right language team in any one of the three centres. Ruth can see key management information across the three contact centres and keep an eye on performance. 6 We help you: choose the right cloud model for your business gain control over where to store your data and how you provide your applications make the most of your existing IT assets by connecting your on-site resources to our cloud-enabled data centres. To virtualise, or not to virtualise… Faced with inflexible legacy systems, Crabtree & Evelyn had to meet tough new regulations. An uncertain upgrade project was one route: a new cloud-based solution was another. They opted for a virtual data centre with state-of-the- art POS which we implemented in three months. “The initial driver for the new solution was compliance. But once the benefits of handing over all ownership of payments to BT were understood, it was only a small step to see the benefits of passing over all infrastructure in the same way.” Tim Johnson, IT Director, Crabtree & Evelyn Make the right choices for your business Control the cloud and be free to innovate Connect to the cloud

7 We help you: shape the future of your business move data between public and private clouds, seamlessly protect your data while accessing it wherever you are, on any device optimise your network and applications to guarantee performance collaborate faster across borders and continents make IT support your business’ ambitions, not get in the way. How GIS bypassed data bottlenecks The Genome Institute of Singapore is helping to push the barriers of medical treatment and diagnosis by analysing genetic code, but it’s a data-hungry business. With each new project comes a fresh wave of data and an ever-bigger bottleneck for GIS’s IT systems. Niranjan Nagarajan, the Associate Director of Computational and Systems Biology, knew dedicated servers couldn’t carry on handling the load. He used our cloud-based virtual machines to ratchet up computing capacity in real time, and our life sciences specialists helped him build exactly the right architecture for GIS’s research needs. Now he’s working with us on more possibilities, such as sharing analytical tools with researchers around the world to improve collaboration through the cloud.
