2. If you were a teen parent, what would you have to think about? How would I get health insurance for pregnancy care, delivery, and baby care? How would I pay for baby expenses? How much could I work if I had a baby? Who would care for my baby while I work? How much would day care cost? How would I arrange visitation with the other parent? Would I be able to get child support to help? Would I have to pay child support? Will I have any money to pay for the items I like to buy?

3. Fill out “My Daily Routine” First, cross out any activities you couldn’t do if you had a baby. At the bottom of your sheet, where you put what you typically do if you are upset or angry…could you do that if you were holding a fussy baby? How does your life change?

4. What are other challenges that teens would face as a teen parent? It is more difficult to finish high school. They may give up their teenage experiences before they are ready, such as playing sports, schools clubs, after school activities. They may miss out on fun things, such as going out with friends, Homecoming, Prom. More likely to live in poverty It may strain family relationships. Difficult to spend time with friends.

5. How much does it cost to HAVE the baby? About $4000 for the prenatal visits Between $8-11,000 for a regular delivery. $12-15,000 for a c-section.
