10 Page 10 OYWA League: 7 Teams, Weekly Matches on Sunday, Everyone Wrestles  Compete in Firestone District (Hawkeye Division) of the Ohio Youth Wrestling Association  OYWA consists of 17 divisions (3,000 wrestlers) across Northeast and Central Ohio  Hawkeye Division teams include: Streetsboro, Springfield, Akron Wrestling Club, Barberton, Woodridge, Kenmore, Buchtel  Team Kratos fields both a Varsity squad and a Novice team  Varsity Squad  Compete in Sunday dual matches  Weight classes defined by OYWA  Westle off to earn Varsity roster spots will durring the week (Monday/Tues)  Compete in OYWA Sectional/District/StateTournaments  Novice Team  All wrestlers not on Varsity squad are eligible to compete on Sundays in the Novice matches where they are paired against other wrestlers of similar weight and age

11 Page 11 Overview of Firestone Matches on Sundays  Arrive approx 1 hour before wrestle start time (start time ~ 1:00pm)  Kids arrive in singlet, t-shirt/shorts (carry wrestling shoes, water bottle, towel in bag)  Assemble in lobby area and proceed to weigh-ins  Parents not involved with coaching proceed to spectator viewing area (look for Team Kratos cheering section  Team warmups (20 mins)  Varsity Match begin  All-stars proceed to bull pen/staging area  All-star pairings distributed and wrestlers proceed to assigned mat  Matches begin  Wrestling Completed ~ 2:30pm Firestone District Consists of 4 Divisions

12 Page 12 Optional Weekend Tournaments & Other Activities 1 st years Wrestler 1 novice during Nov 2-3 novice in Jan/Feb 1-2 varsity in Feb/Mar if doing well Intermediate Wrestlers Target 2 tournaments per month Oct through March Mix of Novice (if eligible) and Regular Expert Wrestlers Sky is the limit We go every weekend Mix of local, regional and national Youth Night @ HHS Garfield Match on Jan 7 Kent State Wrestling Outing End of Season Banquet Summer Team Camps in Columbus & State College, PA Clash of the Titan’s Tournament Weekend Tournaments Other Activities

13 Page 13 2008/9 Program Objectives  Varsity wins 75% of dual matches  6 varsity wrestlers qualify for OYWA States and 4 place winners  10 wrestlers qualify for OAC Grade School State Championships and 4 place winners  Incorporate strength training into practices  Embed Coaching 4 Life Principles into Weekly Cadence
