View Elementary 5 th year at Greater Latrobe School District

3 Language Arts StoryTown Core Reading Program Weekly Spelling List in Yellow Bee Book (individualized list) Leveled Reading Books/Small Group Instruction Assessments: Weekly Spelling and Reading Tests (Friday) Accessible on Think Central.

4 Math We will cover four critical areas in math: Addition & Subtraction Numbers and Operations in Base Ten Measurement and Data Geometry Accessible on Think Central.

5 Homework Monday – spelling words (Bee Book) Tuesday – read weekly story (reading book and RAH card) Wednesday – poetry folder & high- frequency word practice worksheet Thursday – study for tests Friday – spelling & reading tests *occasional math worksheet *Book in a Bag

9 First Quarter Conference We will have a parent teacher conference to discuss your child’s progress on Monday, November 10 th. Before you leave, please select a date and time. Sign-up sheets are located on the back table.

12 Rewards and Consequences Individual and Whole Class

13 M&M’sM&M’s Students will have the opportunity to earn M&M’s each school day for following the rules, completing homework, being a good friend, etc. M&M’s can also be taken away. Every other Friday, students will count their M&M’s and have an opportunity to trade them in for items in the class treasure chest.

14 “Brownie Points” are earned together as a whole class. The class will earn brownies by working together. For example: following the rules, being kind, and receiving compliments. When the brownie pan is full, the class will choose a reward.

15 Additional Information Birthday Treats Nut-free Pre-cut Provide plates, napkins, forks, etc., if needed Summer birthdays – choose a day to celebrate Water Bottles Label with child’s name Water only
