System Prerequisites Recommended Browser –IE v7.0 or above –Firefox v2.0 or above A valid NCID User ID –Used for authentication –DPI does NOT administer NCIDs; locally-managed Located at http://ccip.schools.nc.gov/http://ccip.schools.nc.gov/

Accessing CCIP A valid NCID user account is required Role-based –Edits, start budget revisions, and make submissions for approval Public Access –Public can visit the site and view Approved applications

Roles in CCIP Role NameDescription User Access Administrator (UAA) Allows the user to create, update, and delete users/roles for an organization. This role DOES NOT give the user any access to edit the Funding Application or Planning Tool. Administrative role. Data ViewAllows the user to view unapproved Funding Applications for an organization. This would be an appropriate role for the Homeless Liaison. Data EntryAllows the user to edit the Funding Application for an organization. Planning Tool Data Entry Allows the user to edit the Active Plan for an organization. TreasurerAllows the user to mark an application Treasurer approved. Also, this role inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role. SuperintendentAllows the user to mark an application Superintendent approved. Also, this role inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role.

Planning Tool District-wide initiative −Collaboration across Programs −Not specific to a grant or group of grants Fiscal year specific; no need to create from scratch each year Does not have a submission or approval workflow At least one Goal and Fiscal Resource have to be identified

Planning Tool A Fiscal Resource is an estimate of funds going toward the accomplishment of a Goal More than one grant contributes funds to Goal A grant might contribute funds to more than one goal A Fiscal Resource does not directly draw down funds from BUDS/BAAS

Planning Tool versus Funding Application Planning Tool –Incorporates goals across all grants –Open for continuous updates and revisions as needed Funding application –Includes specific requirements for each grant –Based on the current year’s planning allotment

Funding Application Authoritative data is used where possible to avoid duplication of entry –Budget from BUD/BAAS (read only) –Building Eligibility (Title I) from CFDC/ESSR Has an Approval workflow

Funding Application Link between District Plan and Funding Application –Goal and Strategy, plus either of the following: Fiscal Resource indicating tie to the grant Action Step with a Grant Relationship indicating tie to this grant DPI may request additional documentation

CCIP Updates Overall –Title II Component (Improving Teacher Quality) added to District-level Plan –Consolidated Application Related Documents Debarment Certification Title I Grant Details –District-Level Activities section for Focus/Priority Schools –Comparable Services section

Title I Set-Asides/Minimum PPA Calculation –Separate lines for Focus School and Priority School Interventions –School Improvement Amount deleted Migrant Education – Minor changes to Grant Details No changes to existing grants in Consolidated Application Title IIA added to the Consolidated Application CCIP Updates

Training/Communications Face-to-Face (Hands-On) –10a-3p “Full day” sessions conducted in the DPI Computer Lab (Raleigh) or WCPSS Central Office Computer Labs (Cary) –10a-12p or 1p-3p (Refresher) sessions conducted in the DPI Computer Lab (Raleigh) Webinars – Updates, special topics (by request) FAQs

What Training Should I Attend? If you have never used CCIP before, you should register for the “Full day” session –Maximum of 3 attendees/session/LEA Occasional users or in new role(s), forgot how to perform a function in CCIP, register for the AM or PM sessions. Updates will be covered.
