29 Engage Enable Empower The bigger picture: Thornleigh Salesian College - A Sports College GCSE Top set students can handle the GCSE format It ensures that they bank a GCSE a year early They are supported by very good staff Our results with previous groups are brilliant. This programme stretches the learning of students AS The ultimate aim is for students to sit their AS in Religious Studies in year 11. Again, our previous and current cohorts have done very well. We currently have 60 students in our 6 th form who are in year 12 but know how an AS looks, feels and are aware of the demands of the subject. Their maturity is amazing. In our year 13 class (A2) we have 4 year 12 students who are completing a full A’ Level a year early to ensure that they have grades banked to reassure them of their progress towards their chosen next step.
