This is a module of a course in Information and Communication Technology where the students will learn basic HTML coding for writing and editing webpages Back to Overview

The students will learn to write webpages using HTML, and to prepare elementary layout using CSS code. Back to Overview

Students read authentic documents and participate in online tutorials. Students will memorize key vocabulary and apply it in different ways as part of instructions and descriptions, and can use passive and active voice for descriptions and instructions. Main scaffolding: the online texts to be used by the students. These will be accessed through Wordlink http://multidict.net/wordlink/ where all words become linked to dictionaries. The students will use and acquire several Cognitive Skills: They will make webpages using HTML and CSS coding, and evaluate the suitability of the produced webpages. Cognitive Skills: The resulting activities will thus elicit both higher order and lower order thinking: Bloom’s Wheel Bloom’s Wheel Back to Overview

Students will know how to write and edit HTML pages, and will be able to use CSS coding. This is important also when adapting existing pages in a website, e.g. in a Blog. One additional feature will be the ability to identify and access appropriate key dictionaries for specific purposes. Back to Overview

Webpages are part and parcel of a modern society, it is therefore important that students will understand the basic elements of online webpages in order to edit or even produce pages themselves. The resulting future webpages can be used as a presentation portfolio for documenting practical work through photos and descriptions. Back to Overview
