2 Barcelona Budget : no surprises unpaid : 3 %,target < 2 % –excellent performance versus 8-13 % –Learning : avoid exceptions: last minute, groups –Credit card are excellent way of money collecting and eliminate no-shows –fees 2003 will be significantly lower ( - 80 000 ) and validity of the cards will be checked on line

7 Marketplace : crucial for a positive cycle A large, well organized marketplace, with a lot of news value on IT and logistic innovation, will build value and attract a.o. more retailers More Retailer presence will attract more Exhibitors and boost manufacturers presence And the cycle goes on If we don’t do it, someone else will………

8 Marketplace : get it right now More and more interesting –More IT, Retailing, News Value,information to the delegates –Target : from 2450 to 4000 sq m ; profit is not the issue More efficiency in the booking process: –Web site, nominated stands at fixed price, rules of allocation –Thematic signage ( in preparation )

9 Marketplace : get it right now New Value –For exhibitors : Press Maps, encourage information sessions on their stand,opportunities to disseminate information brochures ( racks ), several additional visibility opportunities,identifying delegate contact information, traffic flow,small lecture areas on ECR topics in the marketplace etc Briefing sessions by major exhibitors : under discussion Major project with top attraction value : t b c –For delegates More and more interesting information, more appealing, news value, clearer link with ECR projects
