11. Phish is by far my favorite band and I don’t really know how I would live without them. I am 33 years old and I’ve been seeing them perform since I was a freshman in high school in 1994. I pretty much grew up with them, because they were the band that first inspired my passion for live, improvisational music. Each musician in this four-member band is a musical genius in his own right. I have personally heard them play almost every genre of music imaginable, everything from punk rock, to funk and reggae. Because I have seen over a hundred Phish shows (I stopped counting after 115), I have met so many wonderful friends from all over the world. Being able to meet up with these friends all over the country is an added bonus. Hands down, Phish is the best band in the world, and it’s one of the many reasons why I love America so deeply.
