3 First, let’s review! What is the Texas Parent Survey?

4 State Performance Plan Indicator 8 All states must report the “percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.” The state of Texas surveys a sampling of parents of students receiving special education services to answer Indicator 8.

5 Texas Parent Survey School districts and charter schools in Texas are selected to participate in the survey process. Texas conducts a random sampling of students to receive surveys based on the federal requirements. Districts with over 50,000 students receive surveys each year. (2006-2012)
