3 Unit 1 Grading Unit activities were graded as follows: Discussion = 20 pts. Seminar = 20 pts Assignments = 40 pts

4 Unit One Assignments: Units A and B Assignments were worth the following points: Staff Memo= 10 pts. Zimmerman Fax= 10 pts PR Lecture Public = 20 pts

5 Unit One Assignments: With your assignments being worth 30- 40 pts each week, it would be beneficial for you to: Review all steps in the document before you turn it in. Ensure you name the file with the correct name. Spell and grammar check before you turn it in.

6 Syllabus Review Grading scale: −To pass the class: 77% or 770 points. −510 of these points are weekly assignments, plus Skills Assessments.

18 Change Case Question: How do you change the case of selected text? For example: Hello to HELLO

19 Change Case −Use the Change Case button in the Font group on the Home tab. Sentence caseSentence case capitalizes the first letter of a sentence Title caseTitle case capitalizes the first letter of each word Toggle caseToggle case switches all letters to the opposite case

20 Setting Tabs Question: −Name two ways to set Tabs in your document Question two: −When talking about setting tabs, what does setting a tab with a “leader” refer to?

21 Setting tabs Two methods to set tabs: Click the arrow in the Paragraph section under Page layout, and click the Tabs button. Set the tab on the ruler, if visible in document.

22 Setting tabs on the ruler You can set a tab on the ruler, by clicking the Tab button. There are four different tabs that can be set by toggling through the tab types. What is toggling?

24 Indents Which way do you prefer to use when setting an indent in Word? Do you set the indent on the ruler? Do you click the Paragraph arrow in the bottom right on the corner?

25 Bullets and Numbering Another favorite tool in Word. Question: Can you change a bulleted list, once it has been placed in a document?

26 Editing a bulleted/numbered list You can change the bulleted/numbered list by: Highlighting the word Clicking the drop-down arrow to the right of the Bullet button Selecting the new bullet/numbering type

27 Borders and Shading You use borders three different ways: −Page borders −Shaded Text −Tables within a Word document Shading can be applied to shaded text or a table.

30 Footnotes Used to provide further information, comment on, or supply a reference to text in a document. Footnotes must be placed within the document as you type it.
