1. PROGRESS TO DATE 2/13/13 Oregon DQP

2. Blue Mountain CC BMCC did a DQP orientation and exercise at our 2012-13 professional development preservice. The exercise involved all full-time faculty members, who mapped one of their courses on the DQP spider web. This was a valuable exercise, as the faculty got a good sense of not only the DQP areas, but of how these interplay in and between courses as well as within a degree.

3. Clatsop CC For our lower division transfer classes, we are forming an advisory committee made of 4 year university professors to help us align outcomes in those classes to our 4 year partners.

4. Columbia Gorge CC Columbia Gorge CC has scheduled a work session in March to review and possibly revise our core educational outcomes.

5. Oregon Coast CC Our National Visiting Committee for the Aquarium Science Program is in town this week. The DQP will be introduced to them in addition to their regular annual program review. (We are interested in ) seeing how other colleges are using the DQP as part of program assessment and improvement.

6. Oregon Institute of Technology June 2012—the DQP campus team was appointed by the Provost and held an initial meeting. October 2012—the DQP team attended the October DQP conference and reported back to the Executive Committee of the Assessment Commission. January 29, 2013—the Provost issued a charge to review general education at Oregon Tech using the DQP as a comparison tool. February 2013—the Provost is forming an ad hoc committee for this 3 year review process. February 2013—one technical and one allied health program have been targeted to map program outcomes to the DQP and provide feedback on the process.

7. Southern Oregon University We chose two pilot programs to start the process, and we intend to expand the scope in the coming years. Additionally, we simplified the institutional engagement by lessening the requirements for program evaluation completion, namely we are not requiring the definition of individual course objectives at this time. While we understand your reason for continuing with the DQP project, we are still unsure about the “how this will benefit us”.

8. Tillamook Bay CC Completing first DQP spiderweb has led to identification of course and program outcomes to be revised to make (them) more measurable for assessment of achievement.
