3 Still Going On: Hot Topics Continued from Fall  Student Equity Plans and the Student Success and Support Program (SSSP)  PCAH Revision  Transfer degrees—SB 440 and BoG Mandates

4 The Community College Baccalaureate Degree  12 pilot colleges have been chosen, with three more expected  ASCCC has formed a task force that will work with the pilot colleges to address various issues that fall under Academic Senate purview:  Upper division definition  Upper division general education  Minimum qualifications  Necessary Support Services

5 Task Force on Workforce, Job Creation, and a Strong Economy  Extension of 2011 Student Success TF  Expected to focus on topics such as the following:  job creation  alignment of K through higher education career pathways  responsiveness to industry  collaborative use of resources  Panel Discussion this morning  Recommendations to be completed by fall

6 Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative  Chancellor’s Office Division of Institutional Effectiveness  Focus on technical assistance to colleges in need regarding accreditation status, fiscal stability, student performance and outcomes, and legal compliance  Partner district—College of the Canyons  Strong ASCCC Representation

7 On the HorizonOn the Horizon  Legislation  AB 288 (Holden): Dual enrollment  AB 490 (Alejo): EOPS and CARE programs  AB 626 (Low): Hiring of full-time faculty, part-time office hours, noncredit FT ratio  AB 770 (Irwin): Basic Skills Innovation  AB 798 (Bonilla): Open Educational Resources  SB 42 (Liu): Commission on Higher Education Performance and Accountability  SB 66 (Leyva): Statewide Careers Pathways Program

8 On the HorizonOn the Horizon  Budget  A strong budget for the CCC System  We did not receive all we requested  An additional billion dollars or more expected in revenues for the state  We will continue to push for full-time faculty hiring and dedicated professional development funding

9 On the HorizonOn the Horizon  Professional Development  General stress on Professional Development Statewide  A focus of Workforce Task Force, Board of Governors  Professional Development College  Pilot Module: Faculty Leadership  An ongoing training program over the course of a year rather than a one-time event.  Plan to expand into other modules next year
