2 2012/13 Academic Performance Update

3 Welcome I am delighted to introduce AKIS’ first Academic Performance Update for 2012-13 to you. This presentation sets out our specific ambition to position AKIS among the top one percent of UK comprehensive schools and to match the results of the very best CBSE schools so that by 2020, 90% of our students may progress to world class universities. We are conscious that the leading institutions within our global economy seek to recruit well rounded candidates, therefore, we have clearly balanced our academic goals with a breadth of extra-curricular pursuits that we encourage all our students to develop competency in. You will see that, whilst we have made great strides in a number of areas, much work remains to be done. By providing this type of information, we hope to raise your awareness of our intention to meet the challenges ahead so that we may join in ‘striving for excellence’ to ensure our students secure a flying start for a successful career. - Dr Farid Nouri Education Manager
