16 Takeaways Focus on managing energy consumption in data centers will continue –Data center managers will explore every option to save energy, including some that may compromise reliability Future data center power systems will include energy management features, such as energy storage and VAR correction –But current technology is not ideally suited to this application Data center load management in response to signals from the Smart Grid is a practical application –Maximum benefit will require coordination of IT and facility management Interest in renewable energy in the data center will increase
