2 There are 4 kinds of Sentences
1. Declarative 2.Interrogative 3. Imperative 4. Exclamatory

3 Declarative Sentences
Declarative sentences make a statement and end with a period. Examples: 1. I love to go fishing with my grandpa. 2. I went to the beach five times this summer.

4 Interrogative Sentences
An interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark. Examples: 1. Can we go in the swimming pool today? 2. Did you bring your bathing suit?

5 Imperative Sentences An imperative sentence gives a command and there is often an understood (you) subject. Examples: 1. Tommy, look at all fish. 2. Go clean your room.

6 Exclamatory Sentences
An exclamatory sentence shows strong feeling and ends with an exclamation point. Examples: 1. Get out of the water! 2. A shark is coming!

7 Lets Practice Identify the type of sentence.
1. Did you finish your homework yet? 2. Addison caught five fish today. 3. Do you have any brothers or sisters? 4. Don’t touch that! 5. You need to clean your room. 6. My mom bought me new shoes today. 7. I love chocolate! 8. How old are you? 9. Go get ready for bed. 10. I broke my arm when I was eight years old. Click on the starfish for more practice.
