6 7 Deadly Sins of PowerPoint Reading your text directly from the screen Put an entire paragraph of text on the slide, making it so that anyone in your audience can see word for word exactly what youre going to stay for the next 10 minutes, and guaranteeing that theyre not going to pay attention to you Have more than 7 lines of text on one slide, so you have to shrink the font to make it fit, and thus make it so that your audience will have to lean in or refer to notes to see what it is that youve printed on the page. Better yet, you could copy and paste the entire textbook into PowerPoint, and save yourself a whole bunch of trouble having to refer students back to it.
