These spores do not know north from south. Most often people confuse blue algae with moss, but the spores that algae grows from do not differentiate between the north or south side of trees either. It often grows away from the wind and sun which is often to the north. All plants have flowers. Reality: Conifers, ferns, and mosses are also plants. Conifers use cones to reproduce. Ferns and mosses grow spores which are released and travel on wind or water.
