SD Cameras run on an SD card similar to what is inside a USB flashdrive. Each video clip is a file. These cameras are very durable but the quality suffers. - This is what we use in BRI HD Cameras run on a harddrive much like a computer. These are actual footage loops that have be captured into a computer. These are good quality but are very sensitive to bumps and shakes. DV Tape cameras use tape. These provide the best quality but tape must be used and captured in REAL time. This is what we use in BRIV.

Do not attempt to clean or repair a lens. If you have issues with your please ask me to clean it. Do NOT point the lens directly at light at anytime. Lens are similar our eyes and light can permanently damage our cameras. Do not touch the lens directly. Close the lens cap as you move from place to place. Do not pull back lens cap as you fidget.

Avoid sudden changes in temperature. Do not turn on device after being left in extreme cold or heat. No Water! If it rains, come back in. If the device gets wet do not plug it in.

The viewfinder is where you can find all of your settings, functions, and playback. DO NOT twist, force, or fidget with this. There is no other way for a camera person to see what they are filming.

Before filming adjust the following: Zoom speed to Level 2 Menu, settings, to Portrait or the face. Audio on Battery Life Memory Card clean and deleted (unless otherwise instructed).

Boom mics can be used with Canon FS100 but take headphones to double check for cackling. Built in Microphone is small, project, and consider location.

Check for the Red Dot in the corner to be sure you are recording!! Play back footage when you can. DO NOT overwhelm yourself with too many takes or too many clips that are never going to be used.

Be sure that the device is securely mounted to the tripod/monopod before moving. Remove head FIRST! Do not twist camera onto head.
