3 Introduction of RCARO Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA)  The RCA is an inter-governmental agreement for East Asia & Pacific region, under the auspices of the IAEA, in which the Government Parties undertake, in co-operation with each other and with the IAEA to promote and co-ordinate co-operative research, development (R&D) and training projects in nuclear science and technology through their appropriate national institutes.  The RCA was started in 1972 and with the participation of 17 Member States. 3

4 Introduction of RCARO Established of RCARO  To provide enhanced visibility for the RCA and developing partnerships with other international organizations, RCA Regional Office (RCARO) was established on 27 th March, 2002 in Daejeon, Korea.
