Homework: every night- (leave text at home) Late work policy: - 5 first night ½ credit after that…. Grade book and Homework: online: Piner High website Extra credit:offered benefits borderline grades- must have attempted ALL assignments Life Science Standards/Class content objectives: meets HS graduation requirement After school workshops available

Notebook requirements : 5 main sections Class work: dated – see class list on cabinet door Homework stamp sheet/grade sheets – record EC stamps Vocabulary- ALL vocabulary sheets ** Objectives- from each unit** Tests: from each unit: Corrections obvious ( NB check) Notebook Duty- During 1 – 2 week unit students are to complete these assignments on their own and have complete before the “packet” is turned in. Returned packets: encouraged to remain at home in file to be reviewed before unit and final exams.

Academic Biology Class can be difficult: How you can support your student: encourage them to do vocabulary flash cards…. Ask them questions from the chapter- Help them keep notebook organized Grading policy: 60 % classwork………40 % tests

Honors Biology Accelerated pace Student able to learn independently Motivated to do outside research Willing to be pushed and strive for critical thinking Willing to re-submit major assignments as needed Grades based 50 % on exams 50 % class work
