3 3 Europe Coordination at the ITU-D focal points for the Europe support for all Union activities The Europe coordination at the ITU Headquarter acts as the focal points for the Europe. It seeks to provide support for all Union activities, helping implement its strategic and policy objectives through direct, sustained contact with national authorities, regional telecommunication organizations and other relevant bodies. assist the countries indevelopment inter and intra regional cooperation They also assist the countries in development inter and intra regional cooperation aimed at focusing on mainstreaming of the activities that focus on economies in transition as well as developing and least developed countries to meet their development goals. the basic functions of the development sector In addition to providing technical and logistical support to development activities, the Europe coordination fulfill the basic functions of the development sector as a specialized and executing agency, resource mobilizer and information centre.

4 4 Europe Coordination at the ITU-D ITU's regional presence serves also to assist the ITU General Secretariat, the Radiocommunication Bureau and the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau in fulfilling their missions by: promoting their work promoting their work, representing them at regional and national events assisting them in organizing events assisting them in organizing events of a regional character in their respective domain of activities or in joint activities with BDT representing representing ITU's elected officials at regional events visions and the needs expressing the visions and the needs of the countries in the different domains of activities and proposing actions for responding to their needs.
