Graphing Checklist: Pick out independent & dependent variable Using as much of the page as possible darken axes Label axes with variable and units Pick a scale for each axes that spreads out the data as much as possible (x & y axis may have different scales) Mark scale on axes Plot points carefully Insert best fit line or curve If data is linear, calculate slope and equation of best fit line Insert key if necessary Number and title graph, title is y variable vs. x variable
