8 8 Equipment Safety  Getting a finger caught in a piece of office equipment is no joke!  Rings, bracelets, dangling neck- laces, neckties, scarves and loose shirt sleeves add to the hazard.

15 15 When Working Alone, Always work near a phone and keep emergency numbers handy. Lock all doors and do not open the door to anyone you are not expecting or do not know. Know the custodial staff and when to expect them. Do not enter an elevator if you feel uncomfortable about an individual in the elevator. You should …..

16 16 When Working Alone, You should ….. Avoid using a rest room that is located away from your work area. Phone someone before leaving the office to let them know when they can expect you. Park your car near the building entrance or under a parking lot light. Keep car keys in your hand and ready to use.

17 17  Have a highly visible centrally located security guard or security station in the lobby  Require visitors to sign a log and give his/her name and address and the name of person or office being visited  Send an employee to the lobby to escort a visitor back to the office  In a smaller office, place a receptionist in the front office

18 18 Independent Assignment Draw a map of your home. Locate your bedroom. Draw a fire in the kitchen. Draw an evacuation plan that will allow you to exit the house through either the front door or back. The more creative you are, the more points you will earn. Make sure your name is on your paper.
