2. RE4 mechanics production status Yong BAN, Peking University 03/09/2010  Shipment to CERN: 1 st shipment: 3 sets of RE4/2+RE4/3 boxes plus all 200 strips will arrive CERN by 30 Sept. via air transport. 2 nd shipment: 174 boxes will arrive CERN by 31 Jan. 2011.  Mr. Cai will work at CERN from 24 Sept. to 23 Nov. on test assembly of RE4 prototype, and help on high eta MPGD R&D.

3.  China will contribute 500k CHF (same as RE1 project)  Cost increase of RE4 production compare to RE1 : More chambers (200) than RE1 (160, actually 144 installed) More sophisticate fabrication: parts inter-changeable (CNC machine); foam filling; more complicate machining…. Raw material price increase in last 5 years; Chinese currency increase by 20% in last 5 years...  Our budget managed to produce all 200 strips and 180 honeycomb boxes (plus 3 man-year man power, corresponding to 500k CHF contribution) Budget for RE4 mechanics production Yong BAN, Peking University 03/09/2010

4.  to complete RE4 mechanics: 20 honeycomb boxes more, plus miscellaneous parts (patch panel, cooling and FE plates, inside chamber pieces etc.) which design are not finalized yet  Budget need (estimation): less than 60k CHF to cover above items.  Hope to find resource (Belgium?
