3 www.nahb.org What is www.nahb.org? www.nahb.org is the official public AND members-only Web site for NAHB. The site is designed to meet both the needs of NAHB’s public audiences, as well as its members.

4 About the Site  The site receives over 1.8 million visits a quarter, 20,062 visits a day, and over 12.5 million page views a day  According to our quarterly Site Monitoring Survey, 54% of our users are nonmembers, 46% are members, and 30% are builders  Visitors are most interested in education and housing industry news and information

5 Today on www.nahb.org  There are more than 7,000 pages of building industry content on the site –3,000+ in Resources –3,000+ in Community  Roughly 50% of the content on the site is only visible to members who log in  There are over 650+ courses, 43 events, 26 directories, 13 awards & over 120 e-commerce products  5-30 new or updated items added daily  Content powered by 280+ staff t experts

9 So, How Do You Find Content? There are over 3,000 resources on the site for public visitors. How do you find what you’re looking for? You can find content on the site in many ways:  Browse the features and links on the site  Search the site  Use redirects like www.nahb.org/2007cases Once you log in, you can also:  Create a custom view with My NAHB  Use My Favorites to control the links right on the Home page

11 Search Quick Search – one of the fastest ways to find content on www.nahb.org! Just type in a key word and click the Search arrow to see your results. Advanced Search – for more specific searches. Here you can select the topic, detail, audience, or date range.

15 Why Should You Log In?  Roughly 50% of the content on the site is only visible once you log in  There are entire sections of content that are only available to members – look for the NAHB logo to ID exclusive sections and content  When you log in, you can personalize the site to your interests with My NAHB  When you log in, you can customize the links on the Home page to make it easy to find key pages Access Exclusive, Member-Only Resources!

16 Who Can Log In?  NAHB Members – members have a unique PIN which enables them to create their own username and password for the site –Staff of Members can also request access using NAHB’s Peer Request form (www.nahb.org/staffmemberrequest)  Customers – create a username and password when they purchase a product on www.nahb.org  EOs – a username and password is created for NAHB Executive Officers  HBA Staff – ‘guest’ accounts are created for HBA staff to give them access members-only content on the site

17 How Do I Log In? If you already have a Username and Password, then you can log in by entering it at the top of any page on www.nahb.orgwww.nahb.org If you do not know your username/password, raise your hand and I will give you a temporary one.

18 How Do I Log In? You can also click the Log In button on the main navigation bar and enter your information here. Logging in here sets a cookie to remember you!

19 About Logging In  If you are a Member, you can create your own account by going to Log In>Create Your Login and entering your NAHB PIN and state; if you need help finding your NAHB PIN, please call 800-368-5242 x0.  If you are a customer, you will create a login during the purchase process, if you didn’t have one already  If you are an EO, a Username and Password is created for you – if you do not know it, please call 800-368-5242 x0  If you are staff of an HBA/BIA, you should have your OWN account! Please call 800-368-5242 x0 and we will create a “Guest” account for you so you can access members-only content; staff accounts are given access for one year and can be renewed at any time.

20 Are you Logged In? Your name appears at the top of the Web site You now have an NAHB Resources area where you get notified when new content matching your content preferences is added to the site The ‘Log In’ button has been replaced with My NAHB It’s easy to tell! Here’s how:

25 Save Time with My NAHB! All you need to do to personalize the site to your interests is go to My Profile and set your content preferences. Personalized content will appear in My NAHB under My Resources. Personalize the Site

26 To personalize the site you must set your preferences: 1.Click the My Profile link which appears in the header 2.Then click the Edit Content Preferences link Personalize the Site

27 3.Check off the topics that interest you 4.Click Submit Personalize the Site You can change your content preferences as often as you like!

28 Personalize the Site The site will automatically tell you when new content matching your preferences has been added to the site. You can browse your customized content in the My NAHB section at any time. Look for the NEW button to know when new content has been added or browse your customized content in My NAHB

31 Set Your Favorites You can add pages to My Favorites and set up to 5 links on the Home page Did you know you can customize the links on the Home page to your needs?

32 To set your My NAHB Favorites: 1.Click the Add to My NAHB Favorites link which appears at the top of Web pages Pick Your Favorites
