5 5 Student Preparation and Questions Prior to attending the live seminar, or reviewing the seminar recording, complete the following tasks: 1.Check your grades and think about your performance in the previous unit: Where did you do well and where did you struggle? What would help you do even better in the current unit? 2.Read the current unit Overview, Seminar, and Discussion pages. 3.Read the current unit recommended textbook pages. 4.Write down at least two questions you would like answers to in the seminar. CHAT: Type one of your questions into the chat window.

6 6 Practice = Success … … and we have data to prove it! We found that more time spent in Prepare and Practice leads to higher scores on the Performs. Research shows that to be successful your natural ability only goes so far; deliberate practice has a greater impact. So you hold the key: To be more successful, put in more practice! That means really preparing for and testing yourself on the Practice questions, not just clicking until the answer appears. And if you don’t understand an answer, ask about it. How much time should you spend? Use the checklist times as a guide. If your scores are not as high as you’d like, up your time until they are. I’m not out there sweating for three hours every day just to find out what it feels like to sweat … I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. -- Michael Jordan “ ” Practice Time Score
