1 Rules 1-2 1 - Always be WHOLESOME AND UPLIFTING. Respect others students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. 2 -I can teach. I CAN LEARN!

2 Rules 3 & 4 3 - Ask questions from your desk, not at my desk or podium! Raise your hand first. 4 - When responding to any adult, you must answer by saying, “Yes ma’am” or “No sir.”

3 Rules 5 & 6 5 - Make eye contact! 6 – If you are asked a question in conversation, ask a question in return.

4 Rules 7 & 8 7 – Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough and say, “Excuse me.” 8 - Do not show disrespect with gestures.

5 Rules 9 & 10 9 – Always say “thank you” when given something. 10 – When you receive something, do not insult the gift or the giver.

6 Rules 11-12 11 – Carpe Diem – Seize the Day!!! 12 – Be the best person you can be.

7 Rules 13 & 14 13 – Follow along when we read together in class. 14 – Answer all written questions with a complete sentence (unless directed otherwise.)

8 Rules 15 & 16 15 – Do not ask for a reward. 16 – You must complete your homework every day.

9 Rules 17 & 18 17 – Subject transitions will be swift, quiet, and orderly. 18 – Be as organized as possible.

10 Rules 19 & 20 19 – Cursing shows weakness and immaturity. Don’t subject others to it. 20 – When a substitute teacher is present, all class rules still apply.

11 Rules 21 & 22 21- It is inappropriate for girls to routinely call boys on the phone. 22 - You must use the restroom before or after class, unless it is an emergency.

12 Rules 23 & 24 23 – Know all teachers’ names and greet them in the hall by name. 24 – Keep yourself and the bathrooms clean and germ- free.

13 Rules 25 & 26 25 – Remember that you are no better than anyone else. 26 – When homework is assigned, do not moan or complain.

14 Rules 27 & 28 27 – When saying the pledge, make constant eye contact with the flag. Think about what you are saying. 28 – Email me only with questions or concerns about school. No forwarded mail or attachments. Rules 29 & 30 –29 – The ABC’s of etiquette. –30 – After dining in the cafeteria or elsewhere, be responsible for your trash.

15 Rules 29-30 29 – Surprise others by performing random acts of kindness. 30 – When checking other students’ papers, give only the correct grade.

16 Rules 31 & 32 31 – Congratulate a classmate! 32 – Never write something down that you don’t want your mom to read.

17 Rules 33 & 34 33 – When meeting new people, shake hands and repeat their names. 34 – When offered food, take only your fair share.

18 Rules 35 & 36 35 – If someone drops something and you are close to it, pick it up. 36 – Hold the door for people rather than letting it close on them.

19 Rules 37 & 38 37 – If someone bumps into you, say “excuse me,” even if it was not your fault. 38 – It’s never okay to talk about someone behind their back. Rumors can hurt someone forever!!

20 Rules 39-40 –39 – The ABC’s of etiquette. –40 – After dining in the cafeteria or elsewhere, be responsible for your trash.

21 Rules 41 & 42 41 – At home, answer your phone in a polite and appropriate manner. 42 – Thank and be kind to those who volunteer their time for you.

22 Rules 43 & 44 43 - On escalators, stand to the right, walk to the left. 44 – When walking in line, keep your arms at your sides and be quiet.

23 Rules 45 & 46 45 – No talking in a movie theater or class during a movie. 46 – Do not bring perfume or cologne to school!

24 Rules 47 & 48 47 – Surround yourself with friends who make you feel better about yourself. 48 – If you’re not sure if something is wrong, IT IS!!!

25 Rules 49 & 50 49 – If anyone is bullying you, let me know. 50 – Stand up for what you believe in.

26 Rules 51 & 52 51 – Be positive and enjoy life. 52 – Live so that you will have few regrets.

27 Rules 53 & 54 53 – Learn from your mistakes and move on. 54 – No matter the circumstances, always be honest.

28 Rules 55-56 55 – On a field trip, compliment the place you’re visiting. 56 – During an assembly, do not speak or call out to friends.

29 Rules 57 and 58 57 – Littering is against the law! Under no circumstance, should you ever litter. 58 – To work is to live!

30 Rules 59-60 59 – A soft answer turns away wrath. Prov. 60 – Life is not fair – Get used to it!

31 Rules 61-62 61 – The world doesn’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. 62 – Television is NOT real life. In real life, people actually have to leave the coffee shop to go to jobs.

32 Rules 63-64 63 – If you think your teachers are tough, wait till you get a boss. 64 – Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping - OPPORTUNITY.

33 Rules 65-66 65 – If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes. Learn from them. 66 – Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll be working for one.

34 Rules 66 66 - If you win do not brag; if you lose, do not show anger.
