Checklist of things to do during 11 th grade year ALL YEAR Explore careers Learn about choosing a college Go to college fairs and college-preparation presentations FALL Take the PSAT –This test is taken to qualify for scholarships and programs associated with the National Merit Scholarship program –Test Date: October 14 th SPRING Register for and take exams for college admission SAT is taken in January and June of the Junior Year ACT is taken in April (on campus) of Junior Year and September or October of Senior Year Use the U.S. Depart of Labor’s scholarship search to find scholarships for which you might want to apply
