A visual learner may prefer to study using images but they certainly can learn by listening to lectures or by completing hands-on assignments.

4. Depending on which article or book you read there are somewhere between 3 and 12 different learning styles. The number of learning styles is not important. What is critical is learning about yourself, discovering your preferences, and applying specific techniques that can help you find more success in school and in your future career field.
