2 CURRENT SITUATION Kosovo faces serious problems when it comes to the quality of water. Discharge sewage waters- directly to the rivers Economic development of the country increased the level of pollution (sewage waters, industrial remains and garbage) Kosovo lacks monitoring of the polluted waters in urban areas. Around 50 % of the Kosovo inhabitants are connected to the removing of the polluted waters system. The discharge of the sewage waters continues to be the main source of pollution of rivers, lakes and underground waters. Serious problem is also industrial pollution that is considered as one of the main polluters of surface and underground waters. The wasted material management is a serious problem and has direct impact on the quality of surface waters. The economic development of Kosovo came with a prize for the environment affecting directly waters and causing increase of the pollution level.

8 KOSOVO CADASTER ON WATER POLLUTERS
Cadastre Registry Report of pollutants is part of the preparation of Water Polluters Cadastre of Kosovo, implemented by the Regional Environmental Centre REC office in Kosovo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning. This project is supported financially by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway during Kosovo have 37 municipalities but the information has been collected and analyzed for 35 municipalities and 180 settlements. There are 368 identified water pollutants. From the 368 pollutants, 266 are collectively pollutants while 102 are special pollutants.

9 Pollutants by river basin
In the river basin of `Drini I Bardhe` are registered 154 pollutants, of which 99 are collective pollutants and 56 individual pollutants. In the `Ibri` River Basin, are registered 100 pollutants of which 75 are collective polluters while 25 are individual pollutants   In River Basins of `Morava Binçës` and `Lepenc` are recorded 24 pollutants.
