University Transfer Degree: Benefits Potential for program readiness Satisfy most general admissions requirements of 4-year college Save money! Bellevue College$1,333 per quarter University of Washington$4,091 per quarter

When Applying to a University… 2 Basic Skills Requirements Math: (minimum 5 credits) Highest math level possible Requirements are specific to major English : (minimum 5 credits) English 101 English 201 (strongly recommended)

When Applying to a University… Foreign Language: 2 – 3 years in High School (recommended) or …. 2 – 3 quarters college (recommended)

Thinking of UW? Consider this: If you want to attend the University of Washington …. You must have completed one of the following with a “C” or better: Note: Home schooled students must satisfy the College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADR) through transfer degree or SAT/ACT. Math 099 (Intermediate Algebra) at BC A college-level math course numbered 100 or above that has a prerequisite of Math 099 or …. High School Algebra II/Advanced Algebra or equivalent

When Applying to a University… Apply as a Freshman if … you apply to universities during Senior year HELP! …. Will I apply as a Freshman … or a Transfer Student...?! Apply as a Transfer Student if … you apply any time later than fall quarter.

Course Selection ??? Balance …! work / family … commute … course selection … 1 year of a high school subject = 1 quarter at college 1 credit = 1 hour you spend in class 5 credits = 1 typical college class 1-2-3 rule

Tips for Success @BC FIRST PRIORITY : High school requirements … Take English and Math first… Do not avoid Math! Research pre-requisites for intended major …. Majors have specific courses … GPA does matter … Myth : “My Running Start credits don’t really count as REAL college. I’m still in high school, right?” “If I fail some classes, I can always start over at REAL college... right?” Fact: College credits NEVER expire. They are a permanent record of your academic studies.

Online/Hybrid Classes “Online classes are easier than coming to class.” “I can turn things in whenever I want in an online class…” “Yay! I don’t have to interact with my classmates anymore… it’s an online class.” Common Myths

Online/Hybrid Classes Tips to be successful: Block out a time in your week that will be dedicated to this class. Do your work in a consistent place at a consistent time each class session Check your email often and pay close attention to deadlines.
