4 Higher Apprenticeships and Professional Registration Work Experience and Mentoring Service Window on the World New Developments

5 Higher Apprenticeship This is an alternative work based training route to the traditional academic route to graduate status. Delivery through a new Higher Apprenticeship for Chemical Science & Life Sciences Professionals. Pathways for chemical science, life sciences and healthcare science. Choice between a work-based foundation degree through distance learning or new work-based HND Diplomas and HNC Diplomas through a local FE college from September 2012. This is a professional development programme for laboratory, scientific and technical employees up to graduate level.

6 Work Experience and Mentoring Service It will: Provide work experience opportunities with supportive training and mentoring Facilitate access to Funding incentives including National Insurance Holiday, Research Council/Learned Society Grants and Student Fee Cap Encourage sharing Best Practice nationally and build an internationally recognised scheme

7 Window on The World A web-based Skills portal as the “window on the world” of life sciences. Aims To engage and integrate the community of employers and stakeholders through the portal To promote and accelerate skills solutions, products and services. Develop an online skills and resources shop.
