1 How to Submit to CORIL? A Quick Guide to Submitting Your Work to CORIL Charlotte Innerd – CORIL co-Chair May 2007

2 C Innerd 2007 CORIL Mission Statement CORIL (Cooperative Online Repository for Information Literacy) is an initiative to support information literacy instruction among Canadian universities.

4 C Innerd 2007 Register with CORIL To submit to CORIL, you must first register. Click on My Ozone on the left hand side of the website Then click on New user?

5 C Innerd 2007 How to Submit? First, determine what kind of submission you want to make. There are two collections in CORIL – Peer-Reviewed and Open. If you want to make a submission to the Open Collection, you will need to contact a member of CORIL first so they can add you to the list for the Open Collection.

6 C Innerd 2007 Make a submission 1. Sign in. 2. Click on Start a New Submission There are then a series of steps where you will be asked for details and information about your submission. The following slides show you step by step the information that you will be asked for.

7 C Innerd 2007 Important Note If you are trying to submit a multimedia work with multiple files, we recommend that you contact a member of CORIL first. We will put you in contact with the appropriate person at OCUL who will assist you in your submission process.

9 C Innerd 2007 Working with the Process At any point you can Cancel your submission. Or you can Save it and return to it later, allowing you to edit your submission. There are help sheets throughout.

10 C Innerd 2007 Describe 1 Choose the box that best describes your work.

11 C Innerd 2007 Describe 2 Fields to fill in: Authors* Title Date Publisher Citation Series/Report No. Identifiers (ISSN, etc)* Type Language Mandatory Fields Title Year * fields mean that you can add multiple boxes

12 C Innerd 2007 Describe 3 Subject Keywords* Abstract Sponsors Description * add multiple words Note: The information you fill in, will assist people searching CORIL to find your work.

13 C Innerd 2007 Upload the File Attach your file. If you have trouble, please contact a member of CORIL.

14 C Innerd 2007 Verify At this point all the information that you have submitted will be summarized. If you have any corrections they can be made at this time.

15 C Innerd 2007 License At this point you can apply a Creative Commons License to your work. For more information about Creative Commons see their website at http://creativecommons.org http://creativecommons.org See the next slide for what will appear in CORIL.

17 License 2 There is a license for submitting to CORIL giving OCUL the right to archive your work. Please read the license for the full details.
