(Wikipedia ) The role of open data in the implementation of the principles of open government:  Data disclosure initiative is the foundation of open government in many countries of the world:  transparency of public authorities  forming the basis for civilian control  new services for citizens and business  Open data initiative is one of the core tasks of the “open government” development process. 2

Слайд 9 из 11 Центр «Электронное правительство» при ГКСИТТ www.egov.uz data.gov.uzdata.gov.uz LEGAL FRAMEWORK  Law on the openness of public authorities and administration was adopted (May 2014).  Interdepartmental working group for improving the "e-services" sub- index in the UN ranking of the "Electronic Government" has been established (February 2015).  Guideline and Instructions on collecting, processing, storing and publishing of open data and the publishing of the datasets in machine- readable formats (CSV, XML, RDF) were developed.  A list of priority open datasets to be posted on the portal has been identified.  Draft of the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution on further development of the Open Data Portal and the use of public information of government agencies in the Internet has been developed. 9

The interface is in two languages (Uzbek and Russian);  Initially, 80 datasets from 8 ministries and agencies were defined;  Currently, the portal contains nearly 260 datasets on 15 topics from 25 organizations;  Through the portal, users have downloaded nearly 16,000 datasets;  Data on the following areas are being published: territory, economy, health, education, population, transportation, culture, ICT, real estate, business, tourism, environment, sports, insurance and justice. 10
