4 @sparqs_scotland QAA Mastersness For those with interest in and responsibility for masters degrees. Explores the specific characteristics of a masters degree. Designed a toolkit to help institutions consider mastersness.

5 @sparqs_scotland Context of Scoping Exercise Expansion in taught postgraduate courses and student numbers. Increasing number of course representatives. How they fit in with current provision. Models of PGT representation.

6 @sparqs_scotland Models of PGT Training Adapting the undergraduate training session and handbook. Developing a session designed specifically for postgraduates. Having a relaxed and informal conversational approach.

7 @sparqs_scotland Tailored Training Built around the aspects of postgraduate study that mark it as different. Delivered to PGT students by specific trainers. One of three types of session (PGR, UG and PGT).

8 @sparqs_scotland Adapted Training Based on the sessions developed by sparqs. Keeps a consistency in the training across the institution. Delivered by Institutional Associate Trainers.

9 @sparqs_scotland Informal Training Discussion based. In lunch/evening so not to conflict with classes or commitments. Delivered by appropriate SU officers and staff.

10 @sparqs_scotland Questions Raised Where do postgraduate taught course reps fit in to the university and SU structures? Do they need to have course rep training separate from PGR students? How do we get institutions to ensure all PGT students are represented? Should there be a uniform model?

11 @sparqs_scotland Consultation Aims and Objectives Think in depth about what makes a PGT degree. Explore PGT student experience. Develop solutions to representation issues. Think of resources that can support SUs and institutions.
