12 Women’s Suffrage First states to allow: Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Idaho Why would it be the western states?

13 Women in the states Many western and mid-western states began allowing women to vote in state elections, but not federal. Why? Why would it take longer for eastern states to allow suffrage?
